NPTGS First Nations Co-Chair Cheryl Chapman and her partner Mike Retasket have been fighting the forest fires around their home since it started on July 7. They live about two kilometres from the original site of the Mountain House Stage coach stop that was built by brothers Jim and Bill Sellars, on the Gold Rush/Spirit Trail between 153 Mile Ranch and Soda Creek Sternwheeler Site and now the home of the Xats’ull Heritage Village. Check out the photo album on the New Pathways to Gold Facebook page. And please keep Cheryl, Mike and all the residents in the Gold Rush Spirit Trails corridor facing immense adversity this fire season! Prayers and good thoughts all!
