November 30 was a great day for the Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council, Spuzzum First Nation and the Alexandra Bridge Project. Chief James Hobart and Councillors Chad Edwards and Diana Stromquist met with a number of government officials, including Premier John Horgan. James and his team asked for the Premier’s support for the Alexandra Bridge Project and not only did he state he was 100 per cent behind the proposal and partnership, he signed up and joined the “Friends of the 1926 Alexandra Bridge Society.” James reports that Premier Horgan said now when any of his ministers ask him about the bridge, he can tell them that he’s a friend of it.

This represents a big step forward for the Alexandra Bridge Project, an initiative of the Spuzzum First Nation with administrative support from the New Pathways to Gold Society. Stay tuned for future updates.
